All partners and members of Lviv IT Cluster gathered for the first time this year at the General Assembly Meeting to talk about already organized and future planned projects. The meeting was held on Friday evening, on April, 7 at a recently-opened Lvivarnya museum and cultural complex, located on Kleparivska St.
The participants had a tour around the museum and enjoyed the beer tasting. Afterward, the Cluster’s projects organized in the first three months of this year were discussed.
A few lectures for students in Lviv, as well as meetings in 17 schools of Lviv region, have already been conducted in 2017. In September new educational program Artificial Intelligence will be launched at Lviv Polytechnic National University and Data Science program at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In the meantime, a few programs will be renovated: Computer Science, System Analysis, Applied Mathematics.
Lviv IT Cluster has another ambitious project in mind for 2017 – IT Research. This time the research’s topic will focus more on the economic effect of IT Industry and its influence on the related industries such as infrastructure, transport, medicine etc.
The Cluster tries to promote IT industry not only in Lviv but in Ukraine in general. IT Tour is scheduled to start in May. Within this project, IT employees from Lviv will present their companies and talk about their work in different Ukrainian cities. During the week the IT specialists will visit six cities – Dnipro, Vinnytsya, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Mariupol. IT Tour is supposed to help IT employees around the country become closer and communicate with each other.
In the beginning of the summer, developing of IT will be discussed at IT Jazz conference held within the biggest music event in the city Alfa Jazz Festival. The well-known IT entrepreneurs and politicians will debate on the developing and future of IT business in Lviv. There will be three discussions with 15 speakers.
The biggest event Lviv IT Cluster is currently working on is IT Arena. It will take place from September, 29-October,1. Changes in the event’s format were announced at the Cluster’s General Assembly Meeting. Unlike previous years, only two days of the conference will be held at the stadium, while the last day will consist of discussions and public talks in different locations in the city center’s cafes and restaurants. IT Arena is the largest tech conference in Eastern Europe, where developers and startuppers from all around the world will present their new technologies, ideas, and devices.
In the end of 2017, the Cluster the construction of Innovation District IT Park will begin. It is expected to be the biggest district of offices, co-workings, conference facilities and hotels in Lviv. IT Park aims to become a platform for developing and generating ideas for IT business. The biggest IT companies of the city are already official business partners of this project.
