Bachelor’s Program of Lviv Polytechnic “Internet of Things” got 30 scholarships. The Ministry of Education has assigned 25 budget places. Also Lviv IT Cluster provides three scholarships and two – the Cypress Semiconductor Company.
For a long time it was known about only five non-state scholarships.
“We tried to get budget places from the Ministry of Education, says Adrian Nakonechniy, Head of Computer Automation Systems Department, on the basis of which the program is created. – The department already had their scholarships, but we needed to get new ones for the program “Internet of Things”. Making a request was a difficult task, we did not have enough time to do it. But nevertheless the Ministry of Education still contributed to us”.
Awarding of budget places will depend on results of external independent evaluation. For getting non-state scholarships applicants must also successfully pass an interview.
According to Adrian Nakonechniy, the program already has 173 applicants. 21 of them are eligible for a contract form of education. The professor evaluates the level of test scores of future students as “above average”.
Lviv IT Cluster CEO Stepan Veselovskyi appreciates the dynamic registration of applicants to the program. He hopes that the program will meet fifty intelligent and motivated students soon.
“Now 15% of Ukrainian IT staff is working in Lviv, and the estimated annual growth is 20%. For this forecast to come true, we have to grow new professionals. This is the aim of the Bachelor’s Program “Internet of Things”. That is why we have initiated its creation and provide three scholarships. It is the only IoT program in Ukraine, and we are sure, that it will receive a roaring success”, he said.
We would like to remind you, that the Bachelor’s Program “Internet of Things” is the new joint project of Lviv IT Cluster and Lviv Polytechnic. This year it will get its first hundred students.
