On November 16, Ethereum Ukraine will host ETHLviv Impulse — a free, one-day Ethereum hackathon in Lviv with grant funding for top teams. The country’s largest non-profit Web3 organization invites founders, developers, marketers, designers, and other builders ready to ship.
ETHLviv Impulse is positioned as the first Ethereum-focused hackathon of its kind in Lviv, offering grant awards to the strongest projects. “We’re calling on people who are ready to build no matter what,” said Rostyslav Bortman, founder of Ethereum Ukraine.
Registration is free.
Teams will build products from scratch and present live demo pitches in a single day. Top solutions are to receive grant awards.
Workshops led by Web3 practitioners and networking with the Ethereum Ukraine community are scheduled throughout the program.
The hackathon will focus on products built on Farcaster and Base App. Both enable richer, in-feed experiences, letting users interact with apps and services directly inside a social feed and setting a new bar for usability.
Previous participants have already shipped:
ETHLviv is the first international Ethereum hackathon in Lviv, supported by the Ethereum Foundation.
Hackathons are a core part of the Ethereum ecosystem, the industry’s largest blockchain. They run in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Barcelona, and other major cities. Thanks to Ethereum Ukraine, they have been held regularly in Kyiv since 2024 — and now in Lviv as well.
“Lviv is a natural home for this format — as well as for a strong IT community, international companies, and people who want to build Web3 products in Ukraine,” said Rostyslav Bortman.
Ahead of the hackathon, the community gathered locals for a meetup to discuss key trends in Web3 development and startups, with exclusive merch for attendees.
Ethereum Ukraine is the largest non-profit Web3 community in Ukraine. Over the past three years, the team has held 40+ events and engaged 3,000+ builders creating new tech solutions.
The community’s most recent large-scale hackathon, ETHKyiv 2025, brought together 100+ builders, who created 23 projects in 36 hours and competed for a $40,000 prize pool.
Speakers at community events have included Vitalik Buterin (in person and online), Tomasz Stanczak of the Ethereum Foundation, Jesse Pollak (lead developer of Base), and other Web3 leaders.
In the past year, $200,000+ in grants were distributed to support product development, MVP launches, and accelerator participation.
The initiative is supported by leading global players in IT and Web3, including Ethereum, the Ethereum Foundation, Sigma Software Group, IdeaSoft, Uniswap, and Ether.fi.
