26 May, 2017

Every year Lviv IT Cluster organizes in collaboration with Lviv City Council the competition IT Challenge for the students from Lviv and Lviv region. The competition consists of three parts: online tests, offline tests and the presentation of student projects.

This year the goal of the third stage of the contest was to create an urban project which can be used in the measures of the City Council project “Smart City”. For the third stage of the competition, 10 students from Lviv and regional schools were selected.

ol2The winner of IT Challenge is Maksym Varnakov from Sykhiv Gymnasium. His project Roboquide wants to help tourists in Lviv. “Lviv is a well-known touristic place. I thought that it would be great to create a guide which will satisfy all the tourists. Some of the guides do not have very good English pronunciation, other guides have problems with choosing the places to show or stories to explain, etc. My goal is to solve all those problems with one robot. I’m the winner of the competition and that means that my idea is useful so I will continue to work on it” – says the winner Maksym Varnakov. As a prize, he got a 10000 UAH from Lviv IT Cluster and his Gymnasium got a new equipped computer class. Our partner LITS presented Maksym a 100% covering of any course at school he will choose.
