Statement of Lviv IT Cluster on Declaration of Martial Law in Ukraine

27 Nov, 2018

Declaration of martial law in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine is a logical response to Russian aggression in Ukraine. Lviv IT Cluster believes that declaration of martial law for the period of 30 days is a necessary security measure.

Martial law is introduced in 10 regions (bordering with Russia, Russian-controlled Transnistria region of Moldova, and regions located by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov). The legal regime does not change in Lviv. Public and private institutions, including IT companies, continue to work with the usual schedule and without any restrictions.

The introduction of martial law does not affect the work of banks, airports and other transportation hubs, does not involve full mobilization, restriction of transportation, restriction in communication facilities, including access to the internet, thus, it does not impede the normal operation of business, educational institutions of Lviv and the region. The visa-free regime continues to operate.

Introduced martial law is not a barrier to business activities, achievement of goals, does not restrict the implementation of Lviv IT Cluster projects aimed at the development of the IT industry in Ukraine and does not prevent Lviv IT Cluster member-companies from fulfilling obligations under foreign economic and local contracts.

Best Regards,
Lviv IT Cluster
