Hackathon topic: SMART MILITARY ELECTRONICS 2.0

There is still a war going on in Ukraine and this is today’s reality! Our team does not stand aside and we invite you to try yourself as a developer of military electronics, or rather SMART MILITARY ELECTRONICS and create a device capable to help our glorious Armed Forces and to bring Victory closer! 

We announce the 3rd All-Ukrainian SmaRTF engineering hackathon!

The engineering hackathon is a unique online opportunity to “gain” your skills with professionals in this field and competition experts! 

Hackathon topic: SMART MILITARY ELECTRONICS 2.0

We offer you to try yourself in several categories:

• Defense;
• Attack;
• Military intelligence;
• Life saving;
• Safety;
• Training/education (military training).

Real tasks are provided from military and volunteers for each category at THE HACKATHON OPENING.

WINNERS GET $2,000 + PRIZES FROM PARTNERS

There are two competition stages:

The first stage will be held ONLINE during 2 days on the 13th – 15th of October. Participants have to solve a problem within the framework of the chosen category and the task announced on the day of the competition, with a presentation of the project! 

The best 5 solutions will go to the second stage with the device/system prototype design within the budget.

The maximum compensation of the project estimate by the general partners for component procurement is equal to 800$ for one team. 

Within a week after the announcement of the first stage winners (until the 22^nd of October, 2023), the teams draw up the Bill of Materials necessary for the device design and hand it over to the organizers. In view of the short deadlines, we recommend to take into account the terms of electronic components delivery and to focus on the Ukrainian market.

To the start of the second stage, teams should design a functional prototype of their solution, that is capable to demonstrate the project working capacity the jury. The prototype remains with the participants after the Hackathon. 

The II stage will be held on the 9^th of December  and will include the presentation of the finished prototypes and the winners determination.
The second stage is OFF-LINE. For security reasons, its venue will be announced closer to the start of the event.

Anyone over 16 years old who is motivated and interested in developing their skills can become SmaRTF participants.

The team should consist of 2-4 members.

Each team will have an expert mentor who will help participants look at the development process from a different point of view, provide necessary advice based on his experience and help choose the right approach to project implementation. 

IMPORTANTLY. Since this year teams work on real-life challenges from military and volunteers, some tasks require from participants to sign a non-disclosure agreement. It will be signed after the task selection on the Hackathon opening day (the 13th of October).
