Lviv IT Cluster Hands Over the Next Batch of PPE to Healthcare Workers

22 Jul, 2020

Lviv IT Cluster handed over the second batch of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers in Lviv.

Lviv IT Cluster delivered another 20 personal protective equipment kits for medical workers who conduct PCR tests in Lviv. The first batch was handed over at the end of May. Full protective kits for work with pathogenic microorganisms of biosafety level 1-2 (PPE) are designed to create safe working conditions for staff of sanitary and epidemiological stations, medical, diagnostic, and research centers and laboratories working with raw materials of biological origin. Until now, laboratory workers have used unreliable disposable protective clothing.

The kits were delivered to the Lviv Clinical Municipal Communal Emergency Hospital. The purchase of protective kits was carried out within frames of Lviv IT Cluster United for Health initiative.

As a reminder, within the United for Health project framework, a campaign of mass population testing for COVID-19 was initiated in Lviv and the region. Since the project launch, more than UAH 6 million was raised, with a part transferred to the Lviv Regional State Administration fund, which provides a one-time payment to all healthcare workers who were infected during their work with COVID-19 infected patients.
