We are looking for student mentors for IoT and Computer Science programs

Probably you have heard about two progressive educational programs – Computer Science at UCU and Internet of Things at Lviv Polytechnic National University. Currently, we are looking for mentors for these two programs, so you have a chance to join them and help students master the profession.

What do we need?

During the spring semester students of Computer Science at UCU/CS@UCU will work on projects connected to database organization, which they will be able to combine with projects from social entrepreneurship project. Moreover, IoT program students will be using Android platform for mobile part development, while other teams will work on app development.

In order to organize student work more efficiently, we need mentors. Mentors will also be involved in the grading process (15 points for Lviv Polytechnic National University and 20 points for UCU students).

Expected workload – up to 1 hour per week for one team. Mentors decide on their own how to cooperate with students – by holding a meeting in the company’s office, video calls etc. By mid-May, MVP projects are expected to be ready.

An ideal mentor:

  • has experience in project management
  • knows English at Intermediate level+
  • has an experience mobile development
  • has an experience of Java or Python for web development

Become a mentor!

Faculty of Applied Sciences – the newly created faculty at the Ukrainian Catholic University, which consists of Bachelor Degree Program in Computer Science/ CS@UCU and Master’s Degree in Computer Science with Spezialization in Data Science. These programs were created by the standards of Stanford University and University of Waterloo. Leading Ukrainian IT companies are partners of the faculty (SoftServe, Eleks, N-iX, Epam, Sigma Software, V.I.Tech and GlogalLogic).

Internet of Things program was launched in 2016 by joint efforts of Lviv IT Cluster and Lviv Polytechnic National University. Employees from Lviv IT companies are actively involved in the study process – this is what differentiates this program from many others. They deliver lectures from time to time and take part in the practical training.
