Ten thousand hryvnia and a computer class for school: this is the award a winner of school IT competition CSIT gets from Lviv IT Cluster. Lviv CSIT is a joint project of Cluster, City Council, and Lviv Polytechnic University. The competition aims to promote IT among youth and encourages them to try their capacities in the field. Tomorrow, we will find out the name of the smartest IT-student in the city, who will receive the award at Lviv City Council.
Nine students, who succeeded in the previous two rounds, took part in the final round of the competition. The finalists competed with more than a thousand other students who had registered for Lviv CSIT. During the three rounds, participants had to complete online tasks, solved problems at Lviv Polytechnic, and prepared a creative task: their first IT projects.
The projects had to be about “Lviv open to the world» topic. Participants could either create a computer game related to the topic idea, or a website. Traditionally, Lviv IT Cluster awards the winner of the competition with a scholarship of ten thousand hryvnia, and gives the winning school a computer class. Lviv IT Cluster participants also award the winner and runners-up with valuable prices.
“Lviv CSIT has several goals such as promoting IT among students, encouraging them to study the field, and establishing cooperation between schools and universities. Seeing huge interest youth demonstrated to the competition, we realize how interesting IT is for them, and we want the students to learn IT further thanks to their experience with the competition,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO at Lviv IT Cluster.
Lviv CSIT takes place for the third time this year. The award ceremony will take place at Lviv City Council, in the presence of Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, who will deliver a greeting speech.
