Lviv IT Cluster will award “Yevshan” gymnasium a computer class

Lviv IT Cluster awarded the winners of school IT competition Lviv CSIT. The ceremony took place in Lviv City Hall, where Lviv IT Cluster CEO Stepan Veselovskyi gave a 10-thousand hryvnia scholarship to the winner Andriy Zavoyko, a senior at “Yevshan” gymnasium. In addition to the scholarship, the student also won a computer class for his school.

Andriy managed to win the competition, which has attracted more than a thousand participants.  He received the highest score of 80.6 during the three rounds of the competition and presented a successful project on “Lviv open to the world” topic. Lviv IT Cluster will award the winner with the scholarship he can use for further education, and will award the school, which has prepared the talented student.  Thanks to this victory, “Yevshan” will get a brand new computer lab to train talented students and teach them IT.

Second place went to Maryan Petruk and Roman Vey, a team of seniors from Lviv academic gymnasium. The “bronze” went to a tenth-grader of Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum Yuriy Danilovskyi. All finalists received prizes from Cluster members. Overall, nine participants received awards from IT companies of Lviv IT Cluster.

The competition took place for the third time this year. During previous years, Lviv IT Cluster has already awarded two schools with computer labs. Lviv IT Cluster members:  Conscencia, Sigma Software, Eleks, Ostware Services, SoftServe, GlobalLogic, Perfectial, and LITS and LITS4kids – presented the students with prizes.

“We actively support the competition because we understand: the more talented IT students we have, the more successful IT professionals we will get in a few years. Several thousand students have passed through the competition over the years, and we hope that they will choose IT in the future. Cluster members like no other understand the need for talented IT professionals in the city and help talented students,” says CEO at Lviv IT Cluster Stepan Veselovskyi.
