Every quarter Lviv IT Cluster gathers its member-companies and partners to discuss progress, determine future plans and make important decisions. The last General Assembly Meeting was devoted to a special occasion: besides summarizing organization’s activities and choosing the performance plan for 2019, Lviv IT Cluster has elected the new Supervisory Board Chairman.
Ivan Babichuk, VP Engineering at EduNav, has become the new Supervisory Board Chairman. Ivan Babichuk is a successful entrepreneur with a strong technical background. Being a proactive member of the Cluster and the Supervisory Board, he took initiative in the strategical decision-making for the Ukrainian IT industry. Ivan Babichuk is a representative of the American EdTech product company EduNav. Thus, Ivan will focus on the development of IT education, as this topic is among his highest priorities.
Supervisory Board is the supreme management body of Lviv IT Cluster. The Board consists of company representatives, local authorities and representatives of educational institutions that train IT professionals. Supervisory Board controls the Executive Director of Lviv IT Cluster and the Secretariat, tracks the quarterly performance indicators and monitors the activities of the Lviv IT Cluster working groups.
Ivan Babichuk commented on his plans for the next year as the new Supervisory Board Chairman:
“I believe that Lviv IT Cluster priority directions, namely Education, Promotion, and Infrastructure, should remain in focus. The association has already progressed in each of these areas, but still, we have to be open to new interesting ideas and initiatives. Over the years, Lviv IT Cluster has grown significantly both in size and quality. We can already exchange our knowledge and best practices with other technology clusters and associations, thus not only making Lviv an IT hub, but also helping Ukraine to become a tech country.
Speaking about a macro level, we should not forget about the micro one. Lately, Lviv IT Cluster has grown significantly due to the small companies which joined the association. More than half of the Cluster’s members are small and mid-sized companies. I believe that we still have enough opportunities to improve and expand initiatives and services, that would be interesting for small businesses.”
