The IT community in Lviv has pivoted from consuming the city’s infrastructure to creating its own. As a proof of this, the groundbreaking ceremony and official project launch of Innovation District IT Park is to take place on June 30. This project will address the poignant problems of the Ukrainian IT sector.
IT park is a prodigious development project stretching forth 10 hectares and designed to host up to 14 000 people. Confirmed IT Park’s location at Stryiska and Chmoly streets intersection is conveniently reachable from the airport, railway station, universities and the historic center.
“Local tech industry has a business need in such large scale projects as Innovation District IT Park. According to IT Research, 91% of surveyed Lviv IT company executives are ready to relocate into more comfortable offices since they lack space for future office expansion or face amenities issues. Already before the construction has started IT Park is 60% pre-booked by the future tenants. Tech companies are confident that IT Park will positively impact the development of technical education in the city due to the high tech labs which will be publicly available for students” – said Andrew Pavliv, CEO & Founder at N-iX, and Supervisory Board Chairman at Lviv IT Cluster.
Innovation District IT Park will consist of 6 class A office buildings, with a total area of around 164 000 m2, 3 business centers, 200 keys hotel, and a designated multi-functional area for leisure and social needs. This area is designed for the shopping and fitness centers, a food court and an educational campus, which is one of the project milestones.
The idea behind the educational campus is to create a totally immersive learning experience, which will facilitate the professional growth and the emergence of innovative projects. There will be 4000 m2 of high-end laboratories, available to scientists and students from the major educational institutions in the city.
Volodymyr Zhenchak, developer and investor of Innovation District IT Park, Galereja Center comments: “We envision this project to become a “new Lviv city-center”, a place for work, meetings, and creativity. On weekends, IT Park is bound to be a popular family activity destination. A science center for children and the youth will be located on the premises of IT Park, with outdoor promenade connecting it with Stryiskyi Park.”.
Lviv IT Cluster initiated the project back in 2015. In 2016, IT Cluster and the Galereja Center agreed upon its joint implementation. In 2017, the concept of the future IT Park was presented to a wider audience within the IT sector and investors. In 2018, Galereja Center formed a final consortium of project partners, which includes world-renowned investment and development companies.
Project investors will meet with journalists at the groundbreaking ceremony on June 30 at 16:00. The top-official of Ukraine and Canada are anticipated at the event. To take part at the press conference at 16:40, please fill in media accreditation form.
