An event “IT Cluster: 5 main steps for a start” will take place on Tuesday, 13th of February. The event aims to initiate an official launch of Rivne IT Cluster.
The practice of launching professional Clusters in Ukraine is not new. Creating the community of the most proactive representatives of IT industry is one of the most effective ways to make cities better and represent IT industry’s interests and needs. Lviv IT Cluster is the oldest tech cluster in Ukraine, which has been developing great large-scale projects for the city for 6 years already. Cities like Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia have also established their local clusters.
“During the years of Lviv IT Cluster’s activity, we made sure that the Cluster isn’t just a community of like-minded people, but also a driving force for big changes in the industry and in the city. Thanks to Lviv IT Cluster, the number of IT specialists in Lviv increased from 15 000 in 2015 to 20 000 in 2017, and the number of IT companies grew up 247. According to IT Research 2.0., one IT specialist creates 3,37 workplaces in other spheres in Lviv. The IT industry is a significant human and financial capital that promotes global positive changes”– says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO, Lviv IT Cluster.
Among speakers that will join the event in Rivne: Sergiy Gemberg, Mayor’s Advisor on Innovation and City Development, Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO at Lviv IT Cluster, Yuriy Mamonchuk, CEO and Co-founder at Selecto. The topic of the panel discussion “Cluster as a value for the city, education, and business”.
“It’s useful to look at the cities, which already have IT Clusters: Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and others. The success of local companies is equal to the success of the city development. It’s easier to work, help and progress together. That’s why, uniting for cooperation if you have mutual interests – is a great trend. I have already seen this in the example of Lviv IT Cluster. This level of an effective cooperation between companies and local authorities for the welfare of the whole city is very powerful. I think that Rivne will get a lot from the IT companies efforts, but even more from their cooperation” – says Yuriy Mamonchuk, CEO and Co-Founder, Selecto.
Owners, co-founders, directors and the main decision makers of IT companies, as well as people who are ready to develop IT industry in Rivne, are welcome at the event. The entrance is free, but you need to register in advance.
“IT Cluster: 5 main steps for a start” will take place at The National University of Water and Environmental Engineering on Soborna, 11 St., at 17:45.
