Editor-at-Large of TechCrunch Will speak at IT Arena in Ukraine

Mike Butcher, the famous journalist and Editor-at-Large of TechCrunch will come to Lviv for the IT Arena conference. The journalist will give a speech about the future of technology, perspectives of developing the IT industry in Ukraine, and the place of Ukraine in the world of technology.

TechCrunch is an American online media specialized in news from the IT industry, from product reviews and start-ups to news from the biggest IT companies. In 2008 TechCrunch Europe was awarded the best “Web 2.0 and business blog” in the UK by the readers of Computer Weekly magazine. In 2009 its Twitter account got into the Top 10 blogs outside of the UK. TechCrunch has a few of its own branded projects: the technology conference TechCrunch Disrupt, the startup competition and award ceremony Crunchies and the database CrunchBase which contains information about IT companies and people.

Mike Butcher is currently Editor-at-Large of TechCrunch Europe. In addition, he is involved in a project called TechHub, aimed at bringing European technology entrepreneurs and investors together, which was launched in London initially. An experienced journalist, Mike has written for national newspapers and magazines in the UK including The Financial Times, The Guardian, The Times, The Daily Telegraph and The New Statesman. In 2000 he was nominated as NetMedia’s European Internet Journalist of the Year. In 2004 he was voted ‘One of the 100 Innovators of the UK Internet Decade’ by GfK NOP, the fourth-largest custom research business in the world. In July 2008 he was put at No. 47 out of the Top 100 people in London’s creative industry by The Independent newspaper and The Hospital Club. Also in 2009, he was named one of the Top 10 bloggers on Twitter in the UK. In October 2009 he was named one of the Top 50 most influential Britons in technology by The Daily Telegraph. In April 2010 he was in Wired UK’s Top 100 influencer list, as well as in 2011, in 2012, (there was no 100 list in 2013), in 2014 and again in 2015.
