Today, Lviv IT Cluster and BotsCrew presented a chatbot \u201cTemperaturka\u201d in the Lviv City Council, which is aimed at monitoring the general health of Lviv and the region residents with the data provided by users.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The chatbot was developed within the frames of Lviv IT Cluster\u2019s United for health initiative, launched in late March with raising funds for the purchase of express tests to detect COVID-19 and starting mass testing of the population of Lviv and Lviv region. The chatbot asks to complete a short survey about your health condition. Based on the users\u2019 data, a database with possible symptoms of COVID-19 will be created.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBack when the pandemic broke out, Lviv IT Cluster decided to support the city and region in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. We have initiated mass testing of the population and supported healthcare workers. But in the current situation, we need to find ways to adapt to life in the new conditions; therefore, a project Temperaturka bot was launched, which aims to increase people\u2019s awareness of the importance of monitoring their health to prevent new cases. Besides, we will be able to collect information from users on whether they have coronavirus symptoms, which, together with testing, will allow us to see the broader picture of the situation in our city and region,\u201d<\/span><\/i> says <\/span>Stepan Veselovskyi<\/b>, CEO at Lviv IT Cluster.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Temperaturka is a chatbot based on the Facebook Messenger platform. The project is designed to motivate users to monitor their well-being by answering daily questions. The project allows you to control the dynamics of the health condition and temperature. In particular, the bot sends an automatic daily reminder for the user to update their indicators and share information about themselves. The chatbot is straightforward and user-friendly. Additionally, based on the users\u2019 results, an analysis of user symptoms will be conducted. This, in turn, will be an additional source of information for evaluating the epidemiological situation,\u201d <\/span><\/i>says <\/span>Nazar Hembara<\/b>, co-founder of BotsCrew.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The questionnaire asks the user about symptoms such as dry cough, shortness of breath, daily temperature, whether they were in contact with infected individuals, and traveled abroad in the last 14 days or in Ukrainian regions where the outbreak of coronavirus is detected.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The chatbot will allow us to identify clusters of disease outbreaks. For example, if a large number of residents in the same area have the symptoms of high temperature and dry cough, this will give a signal to the administration to scale up COVID-19 testing in the particular area of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

So far, only residents of Lviv and Lviv region can use the chatbot. The decision to expand to other areas and use other messengers will be made based on the results of the first release.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
