{"id":26751,"date":"2022-12-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itcluster.lviv.ua\/it-export-turnover-decreases-by-7-but-still-remains-higher-than-in-2021\/"},"modified":"2023-02-17T10:18:41","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T10:18:41","slug":"export-turnover-decreases-7-still-remains-higher-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itcluster.lviv.ua\/en\/export-turnover-decreases-7-still-remains-higher-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"IT Export Turnover Decreases by 7%, but Still Remains Higher than in 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<article class=\"single-content content\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the statistics on 10 months of 2022, the export of IT services grew by <\/span><\/i><b><i>9.9% <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">compared to last year, and brought in more than <\/span><\/i><b><i>$6 billion <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in revenue, surpassing the 2021 figure by<\/span><\/i><b><i> $542<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> million. The export of IT services remains one of the few areas that continue to thrive despite war.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 10 months of 2022, the total export of Ukrainian services decreased by <\/span><b>10.8% <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">compared to the corresponding period last year. Negative trends are also observed in the IT sector, with negative indicators prevailing for the second month in a row. According to the NBU, compared to September, the export turnover of IT services decreased by <\/span><b>7.4%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in October. This means that the industry received $43 million less ($535 million). At the same time, due to a certain reduction in other export services, IT services still make up a significant part of the export structure \u2014 <\/span><b>43.8%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. This is <\/span><b>5.7%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> more than last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Compated to last year, in October the turnover was <\/span><b>16%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> lower than during the same period in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen we were working on our <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">IT Research Resilience<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> study, we predicted different scenarios for the export revenue of the IT industry: from an optimistic $8.5 billion to a pessimistic $7.2-7.5 billion. Following the current dynamics, we see that, unfortunately, we are moving towards $7.1 billion. By the end of the year, we will continue to see a decline in the export of IT services, in particular, due to Russia\u2019s strikes on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine and problems with energy supply. At the same time, despite all the hardship, the IT industry shows unprecedented resilience. After all, compared to last year, the export of technology services still increased.
