Donating to the Armed Forces has become a daily norm \u2014 a foundation we all rely on. On October 1st, for the fourth year in a row, the Ukrainian IT sector united around the Day4Defenders initiative and dedicated the day to supporting the military.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea is simple: make October 1st \u2014 the Day of Defenders \u2014 a regular working day in the company and direct the day\u2019s revenue to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though official public holidays were cancelled due to martial law, many IT companies still keep this day non-working. Those that join the campaign do the opposite \u2014 they work on October 1st and donate all revenue earned during these eight hours to support Ukraine\u2019s Defense Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees don\u2019t contribute from their own pockets \u2014 they simply work, while the company donates the day\u2019s income. It\u2019s a form of volunteering through work.
Between 2022 and 2024, the initiative generated an additional 14.5 million UAH for the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign is organized by the charitable foundations\u00a0 “1991”<\/strong><\/a> and “\u0422\u0430\u043c, \u0434\u0435 \u0436\u0438\u0432\u0435 \u043d\u0430\u0434\u0456\u044f”<\/strong><\/a>. They purchase, repair, and deliver pickup trucks to units on the frontline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are grateful to every company that joined and showed gratitude to our defenders through actions, not words. Every day is a day for the military, and everything our team does \u2014 we do it for them,\u201d<\/em> says Anastasiia Sokhatska<\/strong>, co-organizer and founder of the 1991 foundation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Companies could also choose to support their own internal fundraising efforts by directing the October 1st revenue toward equipment, vehicles, or drones for colleagues currently serving in the Defense Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, 23 companies joined Day4Defenders, including: TechMagic<\/a>, Develux<\/a>, Sombra<\/a>, DeepInspire<\/a>, OpenVPN<\/a>, Codegeeks<\/a>, Visoft<\/a>, And action<\/a>, LinkUp<\/a>, inVerita<\/a>, Askep<\/a>, CodeLions<\/a>, Ralabs<\/a>, Radency<\/a>, Shelf<\/a>, NatCoworking<\/a>, GPT Inf<\/a>, ORIGIN<\/a>, Flash Day,<\/a> NERDZ LAB<\/a>, DashDevs<\/a>, Impressit.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, IT companies raised 9,956,528 UAH on October 1st.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
