In 2025, the tech industry demonstrated growth in export volumes. By the end of last year, export revenues from computer services increased by <\/em>3.3%<\/em><\/strong> and reached <\/em>$6.66 billion<\/em><\/strong>. This brought <\/em>$210 <\/em><\/strong>million<\/strong> more to the Ukrainian economy compared to the 2024 results. These figures are provided by the National Bank of Ukraine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

December Record<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2025, exports of computer services increased by 26.2%<\/strong> and amounted to $685 million<\/strong>. This brought $142 million<\/strong> more to the Ukrainian economy compared to November. In addition, last December\u2019s figures are 11.2%<\/strong> higher compared to the same period in 2024, which equals $69 million <\/strong>in dollar terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, December 2025 showed the highest result among all months of last year as well as 2023. Moreover, it entered the top three most successful Decembers of the past five years, and was second only to December 2021 ($792 million)<\/strong> and 2022 ($751 million)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tech sector continues to be the largest exporter of services in Ukraine. Computer services account for 41.6%<\/strong> of the total volume of exported services, holding first place among all categories. For comparison, in 2024 this figure stood at 37.4%<\/strong>. Thus, the tech sector continues to be a key industry ensuring foreign currency inflows to the Ukrainian economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, in the overall structure of Ukraine\u2019s exports, the tech sector ranks second. In 2025, the share of computer services among total exports of goods and services amounted to 12.3%<\/strong>. The leader remains agricultural and food products with a share of 41.5%<\/strong>. Compared to 2024, however, the agricultural sector\u2019s position slightly weakened: then it accounted for 44%<\/strong> of exports. Metallurgy ranks third among export industries \u2014 last year its share increased to 8.7%<\/strong> compared to 7.9%<\/strong> in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dynamics of Tech Services Exports in 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first quarter marked the lowest point of 2025. It brought $1.57 billion<\/strong> to the Ukrainian economy. This is 1.3%<\/strong> less than in the same period of 2024, which in dollar terms equals $20 million<\/strong>. In addition, January of last year showed the worst result since the beginning of the full-scale invasion: IT services exports amounted to $489 million<\/strong>, while in 2024 and 2023 they stood at $508 million<\/strong> and $528 million<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second quarter delivered better outcomes. From April to June 2025, tech services exports increased and reached $1.64 billion<\/strong>. Compared to Q1, this figure is $70 million<\/strong> higher, or 4.5%<\/strong>. It is also $23 million<\/strong>, or 1.4%<\/strong>, higher than in the same period of 2024. Tech sector export revenues in April demonstrated the second-highest result after December and amounted to $569 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third quarter of 2025 brought $1.65 billion<\/strong> to the Ukrainian economy. This is $12 million<\/strong> or 0.7%<\/strong> more than in Q2. Compared to the same period of 2024, the figures increased by 5.2%<\/strong>, which in dollar terms equals $81 million<\/strong>. The last time such positive dynamics were observed was back in 2021, as since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, third quarters had been the least successful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final quarter was the strongest period of the year. Total export revenues from tech services from October to December amounted to $1.79 billion<\/strong>. This is $142 million<\/strong> or 8.6%<\/strong> more than in the third quarter. It is also $126 million<\/strong> or 7.6%<\/strong> higher compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, which had also been the most successful at that time. In December, the highest monthly IT export figure of 2025 was recorded \u2014 $685 million<\/strong>, while October closed the top three with $566 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comparing the two halves of the year, the second half performed better and brought $236 million<\/strong> more to the Ukrainian economy, or 7.4%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBased on NBU data as of December 30, 2025, we forecasted annual export growth of computer services to $6.59 billion. However, the results turned out to be even better than expected, which indicates gradual market stabilization. If this dynamic continues, 2026 will likely finish at least at the current volume level without sharp fluctuations in either direction. Nevertheless, making long-term forecasts is still premature. First, we need to assess the dynamics of the first months of this year, key macroeconomic indicators, early market trends, and the overall sentiment of the IT market. Therefore, our baseline forecast for 2026 is cautiously neutral, and we continue to monitor all factors that may affect IT export figures,\u201d<\/em> explains Yaryna Voznyak<\/strong>, Research Lead at Lviv IT Cluster.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Geography of IT Services Exports in 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States traditionally remained the leader among countries generating revenue for the tech industry in 2025, bringing $2.39 billion<\/strong> in foreign currency inflows to Ukraine, which accounts for 35.94%<\/strong> of total IT exports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malta ranks second with a share of 8.68%<\/strong> and export revenues of $577.97 million<\/strong>. Third place belongs to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which generated over $556.73 million<\/strong> in export revenue, accounting for 8.36%<\/strong> of total IT exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top five are completed by Cyprus and Israel. They accounted for 7.21% ($480.07 million)<\/strong> and 3.96% ($263.63 million)<\/strong> of export revenues generated by computer services, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top ten countries driving the highest revenues for Ukraine also include Switzerland, Germany, Estonia, Poland, and the United Arab Emirates. In total, these ten countries accounted for $5.33 billion<\/strong>, or 80.1%<\/strong> of total IT services export revenues in 2025. Compared to 2024, the composition of this top ten remained unchanged \u2014 only minor shifts occurred: the United Kingdom and Malta swapped places within the top three, while Poland and Estonia switched positions in the lower part of the ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, we analyzed which countries increased their foreign currency inflows during the past year and which, on the contrary, decreased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
