WHO IS A UX/UI DESIGNER?

A UI/UX designer is a specialist who creates interfaces for programs, applications, and websites. UI and UX are two different elements of the user experience.

User Experience (or UX) is the experience of user interaction with the interface. The task of a UX designer is to craft creative and attractive user interfaces for the web, mobile devices, and application architectures that facilitate decision-making.

User Interface (or UI) focuses on the appearance and layout of a program or application. A UI designer develops the visual appearance of a product: colors, shapes, animations, content, buttons for interaction, input fields, etc.

A UI/UX designer combines the areas of User Experience and User Interface and focuses on making the product easy to use by studying user behavior. This specialist has a high level of empathy to listen effectively, understand users, and develop solutions that solve their problems.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The program was updated by the Lviv IT Cluster member companies and representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The program is aimed at teaching students to develop user interfaces that are convenient and attractive for users while also meeting the business goals of a company.

Students will gain an understanding of the basic principles, patterns, and rules of user interface design and learn to apply them in real projects. Additionally, they will master various qualitative methods of user research to understand their needs and problems.

What makes the UX/UI Design program special is the wide range of knowledge and skills that students acquire during their studies. They devote a lot of time to studying interface design. The key components of learning include individual mentoring of student projects by representatives of tech companies and the opportunity to undergo internships in conditions that are as close to real work as possible.
Terms of admission

In order to gain admission into the program for the year 2023, you are required to submit a motivation letter and successfully pass a creative competition.

That’s why the decision was made to update the educational program to meet the market’s demands. What does this mean?
