Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, in cooperation with IT company GlobalLogic and with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, organized a two-week summer English speaking Summer School of Artificial Intelligence Technology.
The school’s exclusive partners are GlobalLogic, SoftServe company — general partner; among official partners are Genesis, ELEKS, Grammarly, and Grid Dynamics. Also, the companies like Intellias, Avenga, NeuroForge, Indeema, Chatbots.studio, DAAD, and Learnopolis actively take part in the event.
Students have a chance to work in a team promoting their projects during school, and after finishing these two weeks, all of them can receive certificates of relevant knowledge and skills gaining. Besides, a group that would come up with the most creative would get a chance to realize it in real life.
The opening of the school took place due to such people as Vice-Chancellor of Lviv University for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Informatization Vitaliy Kukharskyy, Igor Kostiv, Associate Vice President for Engineering of GlobalLogic, Inna Topchiy, Genesis branding specialist, Olga Oseredchuk, Head of the Marketing and Development Centre of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and Lesya Klakovych, manager of SoftServe IT Academy.
Igor Kostiv noted: “GlobalLogic teachers would be happy to share valuable information and encourage you to implement the projects into life. Perhaps you are the one to create something that no one has ever done before. Now it’s time to acquire the basic knowledge that the University brings to you and use it to develop further successfully. Another essential skill you need to master is inventiveness. During the educational process in this school, all of you would understand what is a fantasy today – would become a reality tomorrow. So my central message to you is to say that only you set the limits of the impossible.”
“You have the opportunity to gain a great experience from professionals, so try not to miss the chance, as there are no limits to perfection, and there is no experience that could be excessive. I want to say that eventually, you would definitely need everything you heard in the lectures in real life,” emphasized Inna Topchiy.
The school’s speakers will acquaint Members with databases, machine learning, neural networks, security, data analysis, and computer vision. In particular, the first day of training is devoted to working with databases.
Throughout the school, the students have two exciting discussions. The first one is about the challenges and prospects of artificial intelligence in Ukraine. The second one, to be held on 1 July, is devoted to the influence of artificial intelligence technologies on the educational process. Both discussions take place remotely and are streamed to the University’s official Facebook page.
