The bank is committed to supporting Ukraine’s communities that have been affected. Since February 2022, Citi and the Citi Foundation have donated over $4.5 million to support humanitarian efforts, including re-building schools, supporting women with legal and psychosocial counselling as well as helping Ukrainian refugees to find safe shelters in other countries. Emergency response of Citi Ukraine covers charity projects for UNICEF Ukraine, Peli can live, Yellowblue Force Foundation, Miyamoto Relief Ukraine and Miyamoto International Ukraine.
Rebuilding Ukraine will be one of the biggest tasks in modern European history and Citi is committed to playing its part. In February 2024, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Citi Ukraine have signed a US$ 100 million revolving credit facility in Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH) to support Ukrainian clients by increasing the availability of UAH to local businesses impacted by the war.
During the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin Citi signed two important documents, including a Letter of Intent between Citi and the European Investment Bank to advance our local innovative UAH product in Ukraine and a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of the mortgage lending market in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy and the American International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
