Continuing to Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Japan

On November 5, the Lviv IT Cluster office welcomed a delegation of Japanese companies in the field of medical technologies — Instalimb and Humanity Vision, as well as representatives of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI). During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for further cooperation and the development of long-term partnerships between our countries.

At the meeting, the Lviv IT Cluster team presented the achievements of the association’s key projects — IT Arena 2025 and CodeUA — and shared ambitious plans for the upcoming year.

“It is extremely important for us to deepen cooperation between Ukrainian and international companies, and Japan remains one of our most promising strategic partners. We are grateful to the delegation members for their visit. Overall, our collaboration with JETRO has been ongoing since the beginning of this year. In September, Japanese representatives participated in a series of activities at Ukraine’s leading tech event — IT Arena. This became another step toward strengthening the partnership between Japanese companies and Lviv’s business ecosystem. At the Lviv IT Cluster, we are confident that our joint plans for 2026 will lead to new partnerships for Ukraine’s tech community, new players entering the market, which will mean more jobs and, potentially, new investments in Ukrainian ideas,” — commented Yurii Ohonovskyi, Deputy CEO at Lviv IT Cluster.

The foreign guests also learned about the prototype of the Future Research Center for engineering students in Lviv. The center will bring together laboratories for cross-sectoral research, spaces for lectures and workshops, as well as zones for startup development. It will become a place where students can work on their own projects and develop entrepreneurial skills.

At the same time, representatives of the Japanese companies presented their innovations in medical technology.

The Instalimb startup specializes in producing high-quality prosthetics and orthopedic devices using 3D printing. To make prosthetics accessible to everyone who needs them, the company offers lower-cost products with shorter production times for countries and regions with limited access to medical services.

Meanwhile, Humanity Vision has developed a web application for detecting post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Using AI technology, the app analyzes the pupil of the eye through a smartphone camera to identify early signs of mental health issues.

The Lviv IT Cluster team is grateful to the foreign guests for the productive dialogue and their interest in implementing joint projects.
