Create an AI Service for Millions of Ukrainians — Register for Diia.AIContest

The Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with EPAM Ukraine and WINWIN AI Centre of Excellence, will host the first government AI hackathon — Diia.AIContest. The aim is to bring together engineers, researchers, and experts in ethical AI use to create new AI solutions for government services.

Participants will work on real cases of AI integration into the Diia app. Ten teams with the strongest developments will present them at Demo Day. The best solutions will be integrated into Diia.

“We’ve gathered current challenges that Diia users face. At the hackathon, teams will work alongside mentors on AI solutions that will become future services in the Diia app, addressing the needs of millions of Ukrainians,” said Danylo Tsvok, Chief AI Officer at the Ministry of Digital Transformation and CEO of WINWIN AI Centre of Excellence.

Hackathon winners will receive grants of $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000, plus mentorship from top EPAM Ukraine experts.

Engineers, researchers, and AI developers are invited to participate, either individually or as part of a team of two to six members.

“EPAM has been operating in Ukraine for 20 years, is a leader in implementing AI solutions and has experience in the technological development of government services. Thanks to our experts’ mentorship and EPAM’s innovative AI/Run methodology, hackathon participants will create AI solutions with real impact on Ukrainians’ lives,” comments Vadym Vlasenko, AI Director at EPAM Ukraine.

The hackathon will focus on three main tracks:

• AI for public services: development of smart assistants, navigation in public services, and formation of requests according to user needs.
• AI solutions for business and entrepreneurs: automating reporting, legal support, accounting for individual entrepreneurs, and business operations.
• AI for optimizing government processes: streamlining operational tasks, document analysis, data verification, and prototyping new services.

The hackathon will take place online from November 14 to 23, with Demo Day held in person in Kyiv on November 29.
