Indeema, in partnership with the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, officially announces the launch of the fourth annual engineering contest, IoT Challenge 2026. This year’s theme, Classic IoT & Edge AI, offers participants a choice between a traditional “device-to-cloud” approach and the development of autonomous systems with local data processing.
This year, students from all over Ukraine are once again invited to participate. The initiative provides young engineers with an opportunity to move beyond theory and turn their IoT ideas into working hardware prototypes, demonstrating their engineering potential and creative approach. The grand finale will traditionally take place at LNU, this time in the format of an open engineering exhibition
Who can participate? The challenge is open to students of Ukrainian higher education institutions. You can apply individually or as a team of up to 5 members. This is a unique opportunity for those who have been considering an IoT solution but haven’t had the chance to bring it to lifeIoT solution idea they have long considered but never had the chance to implement.
IoT Challenge 2026 Timeline:
Expert Jury and Evaluation The jury will be chaired by Professor Ivan Karbovnyk, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Head of the Department of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
“This year, we have expanded the scope of the competition to give students the freedom to choose between the proven ‘device-to-cloud’ classic and the promising field of Edge AI. We expect to see solutions that demonstrate both technical literacy in architecture design and engineering creativity. Our shared goal with Indeema is to support talented engineers who are building the technological future today,” – notes Ivan Karbovnyk.
