Visible Resilience: Repower Foundation Presents “Through Their Eyes” at Lviv Culture Hub

LVIV, UKRAINE — In a war of attrition, the most critical battlefield is the preservation of the human core — a resilience threatened by the silent, indelible signature that war leaves on the psyche long before it becomes visible. On April 17, 2026, at the Lviv Culture Hub, the Repower Charitable Foundation will unveil Through Their Eyes: Portraits of Ukrainian Frontline Medics, a research-based art project developed over three years. The exhibition serves as a living archive of the transformations war carves into a person and the fragile process of recovery that follows.

Art as a Language of Internal Change

Through Their Eyes confronts the audience with the human face of the largest war in Europe in our time. The project’s visual concept was developed by Trinetix, creating a documentary archive of changes shaped by the experience of war. In close collaboration with seven photographers — Diana Ibragimova, Oleksandr Holub, Erika Kabaieva, Anastasiia Khanenko, Roman Opoliev, Taras Vorobets, and Olha Satina — the project documents the hidden price of endurance.

In this context, art becomes a language for investigating internal shifts. Where words fail to precisely define internal changes, photography provides a rigorous record. Captured before and after participation in Repower’s 10-day psychological recovery program, these black-and-white portraits reveal the transformation of the human state. On one side — exhaustion and loss; on the other — the quiet return of purpose, dignity, and the internal strength required to continue fulfilling one’s duty.

Manifesting the Invisible

The portraits are accompanied by personal reflections from the medics — unfiltered thoughts on their own psychological states. They share who they were after years on the front lines and who they began to become as they took those first, critical steps toward mental fortitude. This exhibition creates a space where the immense burden carried by those who save others is finally seen, felt, and acknowledged.

The Repower Mission: Institutionalizing Recovery

The Repower Charitable Foundation specializes in the preventive psychological recovery of active-duty frontline medics and doctors. The foundation has implemented 22 projects, supporting 1,748 participants. Since December 2022, Repower has operated an innovative model of civil-military cooperation, directly strengthening the human infrastructure of the Ukrainian defense.

Repower’s methodology focuses on short-term interventions for those experiencing extreme exhaustion. Results show a 40% improvement in general well-being, with 60% of participants reporting a substantial restoration of internal resources. The foundation is officially registered in Ukraine, Sweden, and Denmark, with its headquarters in Kyiv, positioning mental health as a fundamental component of national security.

Public Programme & Engagement

The exhibition is supported by an Integrated Public Programme for professional development and collective reflection on the experience of war. Bringing together documentary filmmakers, educators, and local cultural leaders, the program includes:

  • Photography Workshops: Exploring the ethics of documenting trauma.
  • Tactical Medicine Trainings: Bridging frontline expertise with civilian readiness.
  • Film Screenings & Panels: Discussing the long movement from psychological collapse toward strength.
