IT is the only export sector that has grown despite the full-scale war. In 2022, the export revenue of IT services grew by 5.85% and brought in $7.3 billion. This is $406 million more than in 2021.
Furthermore, according to the National Bank of Ukraine, the export of computer services in 2022 constituted almost half of the entire service export structure – 45.5%. This is 7.7% more than the previous year.
In December 2022, the export revenue of IT services increased by a record 29.5% compared to November 2022 and brought in $171 million more. However, compared to the same period last December, the figures were higher by 5.2%, or $41 million.
“This is already the second month in a row that the export revenue of IT services is growing, despite regular mass attacks by Russia on our energy structure, and as a result – power outages. This shows the fast adaptability of the industry, as even in these conditions, companies have ensured the fulfillment of their contracts,” said Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster.
