For the first time since the onset of the full-scale war, Forbes has compiled a list of the 200 largest private companies in Ukraine across 15 industries. This ranking is based on the companies’ revenues for 2022. GlobalLogic is listed among the top three largest IT companies in Ukraine and within the top 200 leaders of the Ukrainian economy. Additionally, Anna Shcherbakova, Vice President and Head of Operations at GlobalLogic Ukraine, has been lauded as the “CEO of an effective company” in the IT industry. The top manager shared the tools and principles that help in managing the company and supporting the team during the war:

  • Focus on people’s needs and communication. “Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the company has completely revised its approach to communications. We make significant efforts to keep everyone informed about everything happening in the company. We strive to be as transparent as possible and communicate more frequently than before. A lot has been done specifically to meet the basic needs of people regarding safety, physical, and psychological comfort, which includes financial assistance, chargers, psychological seminars, etc.,” — says Anna.
  • Ability to adapt and communicate quickly. According to Anna, “Crisis situations require the ability to quickly focus on the main issues, make decisions in uncertain situations, and trust the team you work with. When the situation stabilises, we work on correcting mistakes, re-delegating, and allocating responsibilities, and we try to support and develop teams.”
  • Balanced solutions considering different points of view. “All complex solutions are considered with the participation of a group of colleagues representing various expertise. This is the only way, given our scale, to make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary risks. It is extremely important to trust the people you cooperate with,” Anna notes.

From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, GlobalLogic has organised systemic support for the team in the following areas:

  • Uninterrupted power supply. The company provided backup power systems to all specialists who needed them. This allowed the team to maintain a 98% efficiency level.
  • Hubs throughout Ukraine. During the blackouts in winter 2022, the company opened 10 additional mini-offices in Ukraine. Since October 2023, more offices have been opened in new locations such as Dnipro, Poltava, and Odesa.
  • Relocation support. During last year’s blackouts, the company helped 779 specialists and their families to temporarily relocate.
  • New projects for specialists. After the conclusion of a project, the company found new opportunities for specialists involved. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, GlobalLogic has found new projects for 1,700 of its specialists.
  • Education assistance. The company has a developed culture of mentoring and training. This helps specialists to continually develop and improve their professional skills.
