Head of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Visits Lviv IT Cluster Office

On August 27, the Lviv IT Cluster team met with Ambassador Julie Davis, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Ukraine. This marks the diplomat’s first official visit to Lviv.

Ambassador Davis is currently focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and Ukraine. The senior diplomat pays particular attention to developing both countries’ economies, including by fostering the growth of the technology sector.

During the meeting, Yaryna Voznyak, Research Lead at Lviv IT Cluster, presented the state and prospects of Ukraine’s tech industry: the number of tech specialists and companies, the current labor market situation, the role of the industry in Ukraine’s economy, and the dynamics of tech services exports. Despite the challenges of war, the technology industry remains one of the key pillars of Ukraine’s economy and continues to generate significant foreign currency inflows. According to our IT Research Ukraine 2024 study, the tech sector accounts for 4.4% of Ukraine’s GDP in 2024.

At the same time, the U.S. remains the leading market driving revenue for Ukraine’s tech industry in 2024, contributing $2.397 billion in foreign currency inflows to Ukraine — 37.2% of total tech exports. Moreover, in the first half of 2025, exports of computer services to the U.S. reached $1.135 billion.

The delegation also learned about Lviv IT Cluster’s key initiatives, products, and services that contribute to the growth of Ukraine’s tech ecosystem. These include IT Arena, CodeUA, the M&A Office, and various educational projects.

“We are grateful to Ambassador Julie Davis for her interest in our work and her efforts to strengthen U.S.-Ukraine cooperation. We value the United States’ commitment to helping our country build a sustainable and resilient future. As the largest business association of tech companies in Ukraine, Lviv IT Cluster actively supports the development of the tech industry and creates favorable conditions for doing business, in particular through strategic partnerships. We make every effort to ensure the Ukrainian tech business operates steadily, even under the most challenging circumstances. I am confident that this meeting will become another step toward implementing positive changes in the industry,” emphasized Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

Our association continues to grow, bringing in new companies and creating projects that are vital for the industry and the country. Today, the Cluster unites over 300 tech companies and more than 100,000 specialists.
