Hillel IT School launches a new IT school for children and teenagers: Bookford is shaping the next generation of IT leaders

Bookford is an alternative IT school designed to foster the development of future innovators and technology leaders. It is a comprehensive online learning space where young people aged 8 to 17 can acquire modern digital skills without dry theory or generic lessons. The first group of students consists of children of prisoners of war, missing persons, and fallen soldiers, supported by “Mriya – Ukrainian Foundation.”

Why did Hillel IT School create a separate school?

According to the school’s director, Vadym Drumov, launching Bookford was a logical step in scaling up, built on years of experience in educating children and teenagers. Since 2016, Hillel IT School has been running IT courses for young learners and has already trained over 5,000 students.

“We believe that young people need more than just knowledge—they need motivation, support, and real hands-on experience. That’s why learning at Bookford is interactive and project-based. It’s about opportunities for children who want more than just using technology. Here, young students will be engaged, and their parents can rest assured of the high-quality teaching. No boring theory, no passive lesson-watching, no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. This is a place where you find your own path, connect with like-minded peers, and truly grow. A place where your passion can become a solid foundation for a career and self-realization in the world,” says Vadym Drumov, CEO and co-founder of Hillel IT School.

What is Bookford?

Bookford is an online school featuring live interactive lessons, a hands-on approach, and a full-fledged community. Here, children do not just study—they gain teamwork experience, work on real projects, and build their first portfolio, opening doors to future career opportunities.

Bookford incorporates the best elements of Hillel IT School, ensuring high-quality education, a rigorous instructor selection process, and modern teaching methodologies. Students acquire relevant digital skills through interactive learning, conducted on a user-friendly LMS platform with free iOS and Android apps. All lesson recordings, materials, and communication with instructors are available 24/7.

Classes are taught by industry professionals from top IT companies. Sessions take place in small groups of up to 17 students, ensuring personal attention for each learner. Currently, over 10 courses are available, covering topics such as design fundamentals, 3D modeling, game and web development, programming languages, and more. The course catalog will continue to expand. To help students choose the right course, a free trial lesson is available for anyone interested.

The first students of the school are children of prisoners of war, missing persons, and fallen soldiers, supported by “Mriya – Ukrainian Foundation.” Hillel IT School has been collaborating with this organization since 2024, and these children will study free of charge.

Olena Kavenka, head of the Cherkasy regional office of “Mriya – Ukrainian Foundation,” shares her thoughts:

“We believe that every form of support is important. But the kind that gives children tools for growth and education is especially valuable. The right approach to each student and the creation of a strong community are essential, so that these children can build inner resilience for their future.”

What’s next?

Bookford is now open for enrollment! Anyone can sign up for a free trial lesson on the school’s official website.
