Lviv IT Cluster launches a new Lviv Tech Marketplace initiative, with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine. The initiative aims to promote the IT industry in the region and help small and medium-size IT companies enter global markets.
Lviv Tech Marketplace will look as a platform with the most up-to-date information on IT companies in Lviv and the region. The initiative is aimed at helping Lviv and Ukrainian IT companies market and promote their services abroad, communicate with other companies by competing independently, and present their services to potential clients through the platform’s profiles. The project strives to promote the city of Lviv and the western region through one of its areas of strengths – a robust and quickly developing local IT industry.
“Lviv Tech Marketplace will promote to the world the thriving city of Lviv with its developed tech industry, fascinating advancements and innovations, highly qualified and talented IT specialists, and rapidly growing human capital. Besides, it will also help small, medium-size, and large companies. According to IT Research 4.0, as of 2019, there were 461 IT companies in Lviv, out of which 54.3% small and medium-size,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO at Lviv IT Cluster.
“Lviv Tech Marketplace is a tool helping IT companies to win potential clients and enter new markets. Moreover, it proposes a wide range of functionality for the Ukrainian tech-ecosystem promotion abroad and becomes a platform for the participation of Ukrainian IT companies in complex projects that require diverse specialists. We believe that the initiative will scale up outside of Lviv and help IT companies to compete globally,” commented Valeriy Dobrovolski, IT Sector Initiatives Lead at the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine.
The first step of the initiative will involve creating a functional platform. Lviv IT Cluster, jointly with the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine, is going to announce a tender for the development of the project platform in early September. Bidders are expected to propose their vision (technology on which the product will be based, the general concept of architecture, design vision (mockups at a particular stage), and a vision of scalability in the future).
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of the efficiency of the proposed approach, creative brief of the project, the company’s portfolio and experience in the creation and implementation of similar projects.
