Lviv IT Cluster Continues to Support the State Border Guard Service

On July 10, as part of the Guardian project, Lviv IT Cluster delivered modern equipment to border guards. This marks the sixth batch of equipment provided to the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The specialized equipment, valued at over 2,500,000 UAH, was received by representatives of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment. The donation included video surveillance systems, monitors, data storage and accumulation devices, and network equipment.

“Border protection is one of the priorities for our fund. The Guardian initiative aims to enhance the training and efficiency of border guards and improve the working conditions of the personnel. This involves the digitalization of control and border protection processes not only on the Western front but also in the North. I’d like to thank our member companies for supporting the Guardian project. I am convinced that we will do even more for our border guards in the future,” emphasized Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

The Lviv Border Detachment oversees approximately 289 kilometers of the state border. The new equipment will enable the creation of another service management center, improving the efficiency of border guards. With these modern tools, military personnel will be able to detect enemy targets and respond quickly to threats.

“The service management center allows us to monitor the situation at the state border up to 3 kilometers away at any time of the day. Thanks to video surveillance systems and other technological equipment, we can remotely control the situation at the border and at checkpoints without involving personnel. We are grateful to the Lviv IT Cluster for enhancing our technical capabilities, as the quality of the equipment is truly impressive,” said the representative of the State Border Guard Service, Oleh Trofymenko.

The Guardian project is being implemented within the Victory Projects initiative in cooperation with the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

“Border guards of the 7th Carpathian Detachment serve not only in the Western region. They have constant rotations to the hottest spots on the front line. Therefore, part of the equipment will be delivered to the Eastern direction. Many thanks to the Lviv IT Cluster for their systematic support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I am grateful to our border guards for their dedication and service. Together, we will surely win!” added Maksym Kozytskyi, Chairman of Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Lviv IT Cluster launched the Guardian project in May 2023. Since then, the Lviv IT Cluster community has directed about 14,000,000 UAH to the needs of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service. The border guards have been provided with electronic warfare systems, FPV drones, VR glasses, 3D printers, Starlink terminals, modern computers, remote control consoles, and other multimedia equipment.

Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Lviv IT Cluster community has allocated approximately 126,000,000 UAH to Victory Projects, equivalent to over 3,500,000 USD. These funds represent a significant contribution by the participating tech companies of the Cluster to Ukraine’s victory.
