Lviv IT Cluster Holds Meeting with USAID Administrator

On October 3rd, Samantha Power, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), met with the Lviv IT Cluster team. The discussion focused on the tech industry’s critical role in Ukraine’s economy during the war, the challenges the sector faces, its development prospects, and its ambitious goals for the future.

During the meeting with the foreign delegation, the Lviv IT Cluster team presented key projects and highlighted its major achievements. Yaryna Vozniak, Lviv IT Cluster’s Research Lead, shared the latest findings from IT Research Ukraine, the largest nationwide study of the tech industry. She focused on the state of the tech sector in the third year of the full-scale invasion, emphasizing the tech industry’s role in the economy, exports, and Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction efforts.

The USAID Administrator emphasized the importance of the Lviv IT Cluster and its projects for the tech industry’s development.

“What is impressive about the Lviv IT Cluster is its diversification of the Ukrainian economy. Ukrainian business leaders in the tech sector and beyond combine their creativity and resilience to lead Ukraine into the future. For us at USAID, supporting these efforts is a great privilege,” said Samantha Power, USAID Administrator.

In collaboration with USAID, Lviv IT Cluster is actively working to ensure that Ukraine’s startup ecosystem and IT businesses continue to operate stably despite the challenges posed by the full-scale war.

“We are grateful for our long-term collaboration with USAID, which has enabled us to implement several important projects. These include Ukraine’s largest tech conference, IT Arena; the B2B online platform, LvivTech; the IT Generation course, offering free training for Ukrainians in IT specialties; and the Interaction Office. Thanks to our joint efforts, IT service sales have increased by over $10.8 million, and more than 16,500 jobs have been created and preserved. The Agency’s support allows us to accelerate positive changes in the tech industry and drive Ukraine’s economic development,” emphasized Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.
