Lviv IT Cluster Hosts Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) Delegation to Explore Opportunities for Tech Cooperation

On June 19, Lviv IT Cluster welcomed representatives of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and leading Taiwanese media outlets for the first time. The delegation was led by TAITRA President Chih-Fang Huang and Executive Director Li-Kai Lin. The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation between Ukraine’s Tech ecosystem and Taiwan’s high-tech sector.

The Lviv IT Cluster team provided an overview of the current state of Ukraine’s technology industry and presented the association’s key projects. Among them were IT Arena, the largest tech conference in Ukraine and Eastern Europe; the IT Meets series of professional events; the IT Club Loyalty program for IT professionals; and educational projects aimed at strengthening the industry’s talent pipeline. The delegation also learned about IT Research Ukraine and the IT Research Salary Report — projects that provide comprehensive insights into the state, development trends, and economic impact of Ukraine’s IT industry. Delegation representatives were briefed on the main indicators of the Ukrainian IT sector’s development. They discussed the role of the technology community in strengthening the country’s resilience amid the full-scale war.

A key focus of discussion was fostering cooperation between Ukrainian IT companies and Taiwanese high-tech enterprises. The participants also explored potential areas for partnership, knowledge exchange, and opportunities to engage Ukrainian companies in international technology platforms and professional communities.

«International partnerships are an important component of developing Ukraine’s technology ecosystem. Taiwan is one of the world’s leaders in technology and innovation, and we highly value the opportunity to strengthen dialogue between our communities. We are pleased that our cooperation will continue in the near future, with TAITRA representatives set to join IT Arena 2026 for the second time. The event will provide new opportunities to expand business ties, foster innovation, and deepen international partnerships. I am confident that today’s meeting marks another important step toward the development of our long-term cooperation», said Sviatoslav Kavetskyi, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Acting Director of the Lviv IT Cluster.

Representatives of TAITRA also presented one of their flagship projects, COMPUTEX, one of the world’s most influential technology conferences that annually brings together leading tech companies, startups, investors, and industry experts from around the globe. The participants also discussed opportunities to deepen the integration of Ukraine’s technology community into global professional networks and international collaboration platforms.

«Taiwan and Ukraine have significant potential for mutually beneficial cooperation. We see not only a high level of technical expertise, but also a mature ecosystem that brings together business, education, and innovation around shared industry development goals. We are particularly impressed by the scale and dynamics of Ukraine’s technology sector, as well as by Ukrainian technology companies’ ability to continue growing, introducing new solutions, and achieving meaningful results despite significant challenges. I am confident that this meeting will become an important step toward building new partnerships and long-term cooperation between our technology communities», said Chih-Fang Huang, President of TAITRA.

Lviv IT Cluster is grateful to the representatives of TAITRA and Taiwanese media outlets for their visit and constructive dialogue. We highly appreciate the Taiwanese delegation’s interest in Ukraine’s technology industry and believe this meeting will open new opportunities for international partnership and cooperation.
