Lviv IT Cluster Initiative Students Talent Expo Shortlisted for the DOU Awards

For the second time, DOU will recognize the best projects and initiatives that contribute to Ukraine’s victory, foster tech industry development, and shape a progressive tech community. This year, Lviv IT Cluster is among the nominees for the award. Our educational initiative, Students Talent Expo, has made it to the shortlist in the category Best Non-Profit Initiative Promoting the Development of the Tech Industry. A total of 47 applicants are competing in this category.

Students Talent Expo is a networking event that aims to help motivated young people find their first tech job while enabling companies to strengthen their teams with promising talent. The event took place on May 16, 2024, bringing together over 2,000 talented students from six top Lviv universities and representatives from more than 30 leading tech companies.

The event program featured interactive activities, engaging workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions for students from tech and non-tech fields. Attendees learned about the first steps in preparing for successful interviews and how to craft a compelling CV to catch an employer’s attention. They also had the unique opportunity to take part in a trial speed-dating interview for a Trainee UI/UX Designer position hosted by Brainstack. As a result, a student from Lviv Polytechnic National University received a job offer.

This year the networking event is scheduled for April 11, in a new format and under a new name — IT Future Fest 2025. The event will simultaneously bring together high school students, university applicants, students, and educators. Attending it will benefit both students choosing their future profession and university, and those seeking their first tech job or internship opportunities.

We are sincerely happy for each of them and grateful for their contribution to the tech industry and support for Ukraine. Their projects and initiatives demonstrate social responsibility, motivate, and inspire new achievements. We encourage everyone to join in the voting and support the projects that are shaping a strong tech ecosystem in Ukraine,” emphasized Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

The winners will be selected based on the online voting results from the DOU community (50%) and the expert group’s evaluation (50%).

The DOU Awards results will be announced in March 2025, and the awards ceremony will be held offline in Kyiv.
