Lviv IT Cluster will Fund the Project to Expand Functionality of the Video Surveillance System in Lviv Region

On April 11, the Vision project was presented in Lviv. The project foresees the functionality expansion of the centralized video surveillance system in the Lviv region to ensure law and order and strengthen defense. Lviv IT Cluster supports the project financially. It will fund software purchases for the high-precision recognition of people and vehicles.

The Vision project is implemented in cooperation between the Lviv IT Cluster, the Lviv Regional Military Administration, and the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region. An agreement that was signed ensures this cooperation.

“I am grateful to the Lviv IT Cluster and the regional authorities for building the video surveillance system. This will allow the police to speed up taking all measures during the detection and prevention of crimes. This is especially relevant in wartime because people need a sense of protection,” said Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi, head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

The Vision project, after the first stage of its implementation, will enable law enforcement and defense authorities to analyze and recognize the specified parameters of vehicles, even in cases when the data on the vehicle is incomplete, which is critical when processing the event’s witness data. Besides that, the speed of processing analytical data in the system is increased by 100 times and provides ultra-fast search in a database of 2 billion records on fixed vehicles.

“We are glad that the Lviv region demonstrates leadership in implementing such a security system. And the Lviv IT Cluster participates in this process. This is important for our community because, after February 24, a lot of IT specialists moved to our region. Based on our estimate, their number has reached between 70,000 and 100,000 people. Their safety is a priority for us. I am grateful to the Cluster member companies who joined in support of the Vision project,” – says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

Furthermore, the integrated video surveillance system of Lviv and Lviv region gets the opportunity to cascade city and regional security platforms of other regions, i.e., it becomes an interregional security hub providing search for criminals opportunity without territorial restrictions. In wartime, this will solve an important task of neutralizing sabotage and reconnaissance groups moving through the country.

“We should make every corner of the Lviv region safer. Therefore, I ask the region’s leaders of the communities to join the project of the Lviv IT Cluster and the National Police. This really creates safe conditions for people living in territorial communities. The more cameras we connect, the more tools in the police’s hands to solve crimes. Our cities and villages will become safer,” adds Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Lviv IT Cluster expresses gratitude to the community members for supporting the Vision project: Artelogic, Avenga, AXDRAFT, EPAM, Euristiq, Forbytes, GIS Art, GlobalLogic Ukraine, Grid Dynamics, Impressit, Indeema Software, Interlogic, LaSoft, Lemberg Solutions, N-iX, OTAKOYI, Quintagroup, Reenbit, Relevant Software, SoftServe (Charity Fund “Open eyes”), Sombra, Squad, Stepico Games, Temy, Vector Software, VITech, Waverley Software.
