Ministry of Digital Transformation and Lviv IT Cluster Launch Marketplace to Showcase Ukrainian Tech Companies Globally

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, in collaboration with Lviv IT Cluster, has launched a new Ukrainian marketplace for tech companies — CodeUA. This announcement was made on November 13th from the main stage of Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Oleksandr Bornyakov. The project is supported by the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine.

CodeUA is a B2B platform connecting foreign clients with vetted Ukrainian tech contractors for various projects. Clients can access services in software development, IT consulting, cybersecurity, Big Data, design, tech support, and more. The platform provides easy access to Ukraine’s full potential in the tech domain. For Ukrainian companies, it’s a new avenue for expanding their global market presence. Due to the challenges posed by the full-scale war, finding new foreign clients has become increasingly difficult. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian tech sector includes around 5,000 tech companies, including:

  • 2,118 active verified tech companies, according to IT Research Ukraine 2024;
  • Over 2,600 startups, according to the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The Ukrainian tech industry comprises over 300,000 highly skilled professionals driving global innovation, with 82% holding Middle, Senior, or Lead qualifications.

“Code UA isn’t just about increasing the number of contracts or export volume. It’s about globally promoting Ukraine as a high-tech nation. Its goal is effective matchmaking between Ukrainian tech companies and global businesses. Despite the full-scale war, Ukrainian tech companies continue collaborating with clients worldwide. Our loud global message is: partner with Ukrainian companies, build win-win relationships, and invest in them now,” notes Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology Development — Minister of Digital Transformation.

International clients of Ukrainian companies will benefit from CodeUA extensive toolset: from an analytical company dashboard and AI assistant to legal support at all stages of cooperation and a 24/7 concierge service. This will make it easy to find relevant vendors based on specific business needs and criteria.

“A portion of Ukrainian code is embedded in many tech products used by billions worldwide. We aim to see more such cases. CodeUA will set high standards in operations and provide effective matchmaking with global businesses. Lviv IT Cluster will carefully verify each registered tech company’s portfolio, ensuring high-quality IT services for clients around the world,” emphasizes Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster, the largest business association of tech companies in Ukraine.

Any tech company with a presence or branch in Ukraine that meets CodeUA’s requirements can register on the platform for free. CodeUA aims to help Ukrainian companies access new markets, increase export potential, and attract foreign investment, supporting the growth of the technology ecosystem and Ukraine’s economic development.

On the first day following the official launch, more than 200 leading Ukrainian tech companies joined the CodeUA platform, with most already completing their profiles and verification.

The CodeUA platform was created through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Lviv IT Cluster, with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP).
