The number of tech professionals regularly donating has increased compared to last year. According to IT Research Ukraine data, 93.6% of tech specialists allocate a portion of their earnings to charity, which is 4.6% less than in 2022.
At the same time, the average share of monthly expenditures on charity has decreased. In 2022, this equaled 14%, and now – 11%. 6.8% of respondents donate a quarter of their income. Last year, there were twice as many. The average donation for charity per tech specialist is $264 or 9,500 UAH*.
According to the research, tech specialists collectively contribute approximately $80 million monthly to charity, which is nearly 3 billion UAH.
“Even in the most challenging times for the country, the tech industry demonstrates a high level of responsibility and social activity. According to IT Research Ukraine, 92% of tech companies provide financial support for projects that bring us closer to victory. Of these, 45% have already allocated funds to victory projects ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, 24% from $100,000 to $500,000, and another 17% have donated over $500,000. The Lviv IT Cluster, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, has actively engaged in assisting the state and initiated the Victory Projects initiative. Through joint efforts, we have managed to direct over 35 000 000 UAH towards supporting the country and the Armed Forces,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO, Lviv IT Cluster.
