New Life for the Building on Konovaltsia Street: Restoration Work Begin

The first stage of repairs to eliminate the consequences of a missile strike on the residential building at 46 Konovaltsia Street has begun. Lviv IT Cluster, along with its members and partners Kormotech and Enzym Group, are working to prepare the building for the upcoming cold season.

Specialists have conducted a thorough inspection of the building and developed an initial emergency repair plan. These efforts are aimed at preserving the building’s structural integrity throughout the winter and preventing further damage. Currently, contractors are temporarily reinforcing roof elements, replacing windows, and partially repairing the exterior walls.

In addition, specialists have inspected the ventilation systems and restored the building’s connection to the gas supply network. A video surveillance system is also being installed, with the necessary equipment already procured.

The restoration project is nearing completion. Once the expert review is finalized, contractors will begin the main repair work.

The building repairs are being carried out as part of the Lviv City Council’s Adopt a Building initiative. The project is funded by the charitable foundation of Lviv IT Cluster, its member tech companies, as well as Kormotech and Enzym Group. Through joint efforts, 9.5 million UAH have been raised for the building’s restoration.

“Due to the enemy missile attack, 12 families from this building were left homeless. As responsible businesses, we consider it our duty to support the community during these difficult times. Our priority is the high-quality restoration of the building, adhering to all engineering standards, so that the families who lost their homes can feel safe and comfortable in their rebuilt apartments. I’m grateful to our member companies and partners for stepping up to help,” emphasized Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

“We are involved in numerous charitable and social projects, supporting the Lviv community and Ukraine during the war. This continues to be one of our key priorities. We have allocated funds to support the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv and are actively assisting here in Lviv, as this is our home, despite having teams in five countries worldwide. As responsible corporate citizens, we are committed to contributing to our country’s victory and its reconstruction,” said Rostyslav Vovk, CEO and co-owner of Kormotech.

“Helping the building survive this winter without further destruction was incredibly important. During wartime, bringing light and sharing warmth is not just a metaphor. Enzym Group knows how to operate in challenging times, and for us, this is not just about resilience but also about responsibility to the community,” said Andrii Tsehelyk, CEO of Enzym Group.

It’s important to note that the building at 46 Konovaltsia Street sustained significant damage during a combined missile attack on Lviv in September of this year. In total, 189 buildings were affected, with the city’s losses surpassing 1 billion UAH.

The project is being implemented thanks to financial support from the Lviv IT Cluster’s charitable foundation and member companies, including Intellias, Avenga, Sombra, Linkup Studio, Forbytes, Impressit, Relevant Software, PLVision, Embrox, CharStudio, Jappware, Deviark, Scimus, Simulmedia, in partnership with Kormotech and Enzym Group.
