New Reality: Mission Back in Tech — Free Conference on Veterans’ Return to the Workforce

On July 31, Lviv IT Cluster will host a free conference, New Reality: Mission: Back in Tech, dedicated to tech companies’ adaptation to the return of drafted employees. The event is organized in collaboration with the Mental Health Center as part of our new project, Mission: Back in Tech, within the Victory Projects initiative.

Participants will learn how to prepare for the return of colleagues who have completed military service. The program includes panel discussions, expert talks, and interactive sessions.

Speakers:

• Andriy Zholob, a veteran and head of the Center for Providing Services to Combatants in Lviv, will discuss what companies need to know about the return of demobilized employees.
• Oleh Bereziuk, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, and head of the psychological rehabilitation direction at UNBROKEN, will talk about the early signs of PTSD in employees and how to help them cope.
• Yaryna Voznyak, the Research Lead at Lviv IT Cluster, will share current analytics on veterans’ returns.
• Nestor Shvets, the Chief Legal Officer at Lviv IT Cluster, will explain the necessary legislative changes regarding the employment of veterans.

Due to the full-scale invasion, many tech industry professionals who were subject to mobilization were forced to pause their professional activities. The Mission: Back in Tech project aims to help tech companies integrate their employees back into the work process.

“Our project aims to develop a comprehensive set of methodological materials to help companies prepare for the return of colleagues from military service. To make these resources effective for employers, we need to understand the current state of the issue. We encourage conference participants to share their thoughts and experiences regarding the reintegration of demobilized employees and to hear from veterans about their expectations for further professional development,” says Natalia Heras, project lead of Mission: Back in Tech and Partnership Director at Lviv IT Cluster.
