Quantum Systems — the New Member of the Lviv IT Cluster

Quantum Systems has joined the Lviv IT Cluster, becoming the first defense tech member in our association. The company specializes in the development, design, and production of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Founded in 2015 in Germany, Quantum Systems officially entered the Ukrainian market in 2023. Here, the company opened a Service, Training, Logistics, and Support Center (SSTLC), which later became the foundation for establishing a modern R&D center. Recently, the company became Europe’s first defense tech unicorn, raising €160 million in an extended Series C round. These funds will be allocated to research and development of AI-powered unmanned systems, expanding production capacities — particularly in Ukraine — and strengthening the company’s presence in Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Quantum Systems Ukraine plays a key role in shaping the defense technology ecosystem, demonstrating how an international business can successfully operate and grow in Ukraine, even under challenging conditions. This sets an example for other foreign companies looking to develop local projects, invest in innovation, and contribute to strengthening national defense capabilities.

On November 12, Dmytro Gorlin, CTO of Quantum Systems, visited the Lviv IT Cluster’s office. During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for joint initiatives, particularly in the field of education. High-quality talent development is essential for the growth of the tech industry — especially in the rapidly expanding defense tech sector, which requires highly skilled engineers and developers to create innovative security and defense solutions. The parties also agreed to collaborate on projects that will bring additional value to defense companies through knowledge exchange and the sharing of expertise.
