Lviv IT Cluster and its members, together with partner companies Kormotech and Enzym Group, have completed the restoration of a residential building at 46 Konovaltsia Street, which suffered significant damage during a russian missile and drone attack on Lviv on September 4, 2024. At that time, the house was left without a roof, and nine families lost their homes.
Lviv IT Cluster, together with its members and partners — Kormotech and Enzym Group — took on the full scope of works, from preparatory and emergency stabilization to complete restoration.
The project began with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation on October 28, 2024, between the Lviv City Council, Lviv IT Cluster, and partner companies. Subsequent steps involved a competitive selection of the design organization, an assessment of the building’s condition, and the preparation of project documentation that successfully passed expert review.
“This project is the best example of unity. Business, community, city authorities, and representatives of public utilities all came together to restore this building so that the families who lived here before this terrible tragedy could return to their homes. We are glad we had the opportunity to contribute to this mission. For the residents, the building has returned not only physical safety but also the feeling of home and stability after losing their housing due to the war. This is extremely important and valuable. Projects like this are deeply motivating. I thank everyone involved,” commented Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.
The project was implemented as part of the Lviv City Council’s initiative “Adopt a Building.” Its goal is to involve Ukrainian and international businesses and charitable organizations in restoring buildings destroyed by the enemy.
“On the day of the attack, 189 buildings were damaged. At first, we felt hopeless, as we didn’t know how we could fund all this restoration. It was about hundreds of millions of hryvnias. That’s why I am proud that we have such amazing people in Lviv who immediately responded to help. I am grateful to Lviv IT Cluster, its member companies, and partners for their engagement. This is a real gift for our community and the entire city,” emphasized Andriy Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv.
The first stage of work included emergency measures: strengthening and partial repair of external walls, window replacement, gas supply reconnection, and winterization of certain structural elements. At the same time, the construction site was equipped with material storage areas and a backup power supply.
The next stages involved replacement of the drainage system, insulation of ceilings and façade, and installation of metal structures that restored the building’s load-bearing capacity. Later, the wooden roof frame was restored, the roof covering was replaced, the stairwell was repaired, and the surrounding area was improved.
The project was implemented thanks to financial support from the Lviv IT Cluster’s charitable foundation and member companies, including Intellias, Avenga, Sombra, Linkup ST, Forbytes, Impressit, Relevant Software, PLVision, Embrox, CharStudio, Jappware, Deviark, Scimus, Simulmedia, in partnership with Kormotech and Enzym Group. Together, UAH 10.5 million was raised for the rebuilding.
“The restoration of the Konovaltsia building is an example of how business and community can act together, taking responsibility for people affected by russia’s aggression. For Kormotech, participation in this project is not a one-time initiative but a conscious step within our culture of care and partnership. We believe that Ukraine’s reconstruction must be transparent, phased, and based on a clear understanding of everyone’s responsibility. This is how trust in business and institutions is built. And we are proud to contribute to bringing people in Lviv back to their homes,” explained Mariia Stefanyshyn, Director at Kormotech.
“The moment when residents step into their home again is the greatest reward for our team. The completion of the restoration at 46 Konovaltsia Street became possible thanks to the joint efforts of responsible businesses, the city government, and caring people. From the very beginning, we understood: this is more than just about walls — it’s about safety, dignity, and the future. Now this home is ready for living again, and we are grateful to have been part of this process,” summed up Andriy Tsehelyk, CEO of Enzym Group.
The Lviv IT Cluster team led the restoration process, ensuring professional, transparent, and fair organization at every stage — from tender procedures to technical supervision of the work. We ensured that all funds were used for their intended purpose and solely for the needs of the city’s recovery efforts. Each step was also coordinated with the building’s residents.
