Four years of full-scale war have forced Ukrainian businesses to operate in a state of constant risk. Despite this, the IT industry remains one of the largest exporters: on a year-over-year basis, exports grew by 11% compared to December 2024.
Even under current conditions, GlobalLogic’s Ukrainian hub remains the largest in Europe. Productivity has held steady at pre-war levels, thanks to early preparation, autonomous infrastructure, team relocation, and flexible scheduling.
Alongside technical shifts, the company adapted its internal programs to meet wartime challenges. GlobalLogic ramped up its focus on specialist wellbeing, veteran support, and volunteer initiatives.

Veteran Program
Reintegrating veterans into the professional environment is one of the top priorities for the team.
Demobilized specialists receive a Demobilization Kit — a personalized development plan featuring mentorship and professional training. The program also provides access to mental health support and a rehabilitation retreat in the Carpathian Mountains. The program lasts 12 months. Currently, 79 veterans have returned to project tasks.
Investment in Wellbeing and Mental Health
Wellbeing programs have always been part of GlobalLogic’s corporate culture, but the company has significantly expanded these initiatives since 2022. Key focus areas include:
Supporting Ukraine
“Today, donations are part of the daily life for Ukrainians and Ukrainian businesses. GlobalLogic’s Ukrainian office systematically supports foundations and organizations, including “Come Back Alive”, “Children of Heroes”, “Tabletochki”, the NGO “AEROROZVIDKA”, and National specialized children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt”. Additionally, the parent company Hitachi, GlobalLogic’s international offices, and partners have contributed over 500 million UAH to support Ukraine”, comments Anna Shcherbakova, Head of Operations, GlobalLogic Ukraine.
A separate charitable focus is the support for the Superhumans Center for war trauma. Last year, the company donated $54,000 to the center for targeted evacuations from hotspots, saving the lives of over 100 soldiers. A new fundraising campaign for Superhumans is currently underway, where GlobalLogic will double all contributions from its specialists.
Supporting Ukrainian IT
To mark the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, GlobalLogic’s Ukrainian team created the book “War-Life Balance.” The publication shares stories of life and work in Ukraine during the war, told from colleague to colleague across the globe. The book also serves a strategic purpose: to support ongoing projects and open doors for new partnerships by demonstrating the unwavering expertise and resilience of the Ukrainian team.
The printed book was released in Ukraine and abroad in a limited edition. Now, the digital version will be shared with all 282,000 Hitachi employees. “War-Life Balance” has already drawn hundreds of responses from colleagues in Japan, the US, India, and Europe, while over 500 Ukrainian specialists are currently engaged in Hitachi projects.
