Lviv IT Cluster and its members and partners Kormotech and Enzym Group continue to rebuild the residential building at 46 Konovaltsia Street, which suffered significant damage during the Russian missile strike on September 4, 2024. The work is being carried out according to the approved project, and the building restoration is proceeding in stages.
In January, urgent emergency repairs were completed: windows were replaced, the roof was reinforced, and a video surveillance system was installed. At the same time, the project documentation was finalized and passed expert review, and tenders were held to select the general contractor and technical supervision.
“This project is an example of how business, the community, and the city can unite for a common goal. Rebuilding the house on Konovaltsia is not only about physically restoring walls but also about bringing safety back to those affected by the war. We believe such initiatives should become the common practice in Ukraine’s post-war recovery,” commented Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.
In February, a series of preparatory works were carried out, including setting up the construction site, organizing material storage zones, and installing a backup power supply. Main works also began on reinforcing walls and window openings with metal elements and braces.
In March, construction work continues on-site. Specifically, insulation of the ceiling has been completed, and wooden flooring was installed in the attic, enabling the reconstruction of the wooden roof frame and the subsequent replacement of the roofing. Simultaneously, a set of wall reinforcement works is underway, which will restore the building’s load-bearing capacity.
“We are physically rebuilding the house to return people to their homes. To maintain trust we report in detail to the city community on every stage of the restoration, completed work, and plans. As an efficient and responsible business, we must fulfill all our commitments to the highest standard and give residents confidence that their home will have a long and secure life,” said Maria Stefanyshyn, Administrative Director of Kormotech.
The active phase of reconstruction is currently ongoing. The installation of metal elements that will restore the building’s load-bearing capacity is being finalized. Repairs and replacement of the wooden roof structures have begun, after which a new standing seam roof will be installed. Additionally, work on replacing the drainage system and preparing the facade for insulation and finishing has begun.
“Working on this restoration project is our responsibility to the people and the city. It’s crucial to reinforce the building to ensure its reliability, and necessary work is ongoing to ensure that. In such moments, each of us becomes part of a great cause, and the Enzym team is ready to do everything to help get through these challenging times,” said Andriy Tsehelyk, CEO of Enzym Group.
The reconstruction is being carried out as part of the Lviv City Council’s Adopt a Building initiative. The project is funded by the charitable foundation of Lviv IT Cluster, and an association’s member companies including Intellias, Avenga, Sombra, Linkup Studio, Forbytes, Impressit, Relevant Software, PLVision, Embrox, CharStudio, Jappware, Deviark, Scimus, Simulmedia, and Kormotech and Enzym Group. Together, 9.5 million UAH have been raised for the restoration of the building.
