SoftServe, a premier IT consulting and digital services provider has been named the Silver Winner in the “Best charity, NGO/NFP programme” category at the Corporate Engagement Awards 2024 for its collaboration with the Superhumans Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Ukraine.
The collaboration between SoftServe and Superhumans began in 2023. Partners launched a U.S.-Ukrainian Prosthetics Mission for Military and Civilians that was financially supported by SoftServe ($1 million). As part of this initiative, prosthetists from the Medical Center Orthotics and Prosthetics (Maryland, USA) spent a few weeks in Ukraine training local doctors. The mission enabled more than 20 Ukrainian patients to receive modern prostheses and provided Ukrainian prosthetists with hands-on experience from their American colleagues.
“Since the start of the full-scale war, between 20,000 and 50,000 Ukrainians have undergone amputations of varying complexity. Extensive rehabilitation is essential for these individuals to have a chance at a decent life,” said Mariia Kucherenko, Corporate Reputation and CSR Director at SoftServe. “To assist in this effort, we have initiated a collaboration with the Superhumans Center, which provides rehabilitation services to approximately 3,000 patients each year. We have already seen the initial outcomes of our joint project, and we continue to work together to help Ukrainians affected by the war.”
Additionally, SoftServe also provides technological support to Superhumans. The company’s specialists are developing a mobile application to monitor patients’ health, as part of the corporate pro bono program, OpenTech. The app will enable patients to track their physical and emotional state during rehabilitation, as well as receive expert advice and recovery recommendations.
