Sombra Moves to a New Office in Lviv

Sombra, a software development company, has relocated to a new office. This relocation signifies a fresh start for the company, aimed at providing a more comfortable work environment for employees and increasing productivity.

Sombra is a service-oriented software development company that collaborates with clients from the USA, Canada, and Europe. Our projects help optimize company processes and add value to their products. The company has offices in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kyiv. A year ago, Sombra also opened an office in Colombia, which marked a significant step towards entering the global market. Sombra has over 300 professionals who create technical solutions for clients worldwide daily.

This year’s day marks Sombra’s 11th anniversary, and the company has recently relocated to its fifth office in Lviv since its establishment. The company was founded in 2013, starting in a small one-room apartment. Since then, Sombra has continually grown and evolved with each new project and client, leading to subsequent office relocations that symbolize new achievements and ambitions. The previous office on Zelena Street no longer met the company’s needs, prompting the decision to create a more comfortable, modern, and spacious environment that would inspire employees. Additionally, the company aimed to align the new office with its values and ambitions, seeking to make it brighter and more inclusive. The move to a new, more spacious, and convenient office is a testament to Sombra’s commitment to progress.

A New Space for New Ideas

The Sombra office is located in the “Natsionalny” Business Center at 108 Stryiska Street. It occupies three floors (13th to 15th) and includes a private terrace with a stunning view of Lviv and breathtaking sunsets. The office features spacious open spaces, modern meeting rooms, a game zone with foosball, table tennis, and guitars, a conference hall, an internal library, a room for the Sombra for Ukraine charity fund, and a secure shelter. From the office windows, you can see the High Castle and enjoy a beautiful city panorama.

“We aimed to create a space that would inspire our employees and help them bring their boldest ideas to life,” stated Serhiy Myakshynov, VP of Operations Support. “This office symbolizes our commitment to growth and improvement.”

Special attention was given to the comfort of employees. There are relaxation zones, kitchens, plenty of greenery, and natural light to create a healthy atmosphere. The office is equipped with chillers to maintain an optimal temperature and water filters to easily replenish water supplies. The uninterrupted operation of the office is ensured by a generator and Starlink. In addition, the terrace is equipped with modern wind protection structures, creating a comfortable environment for outdoor relaxation.

The office is more inclusive thanks to the collaboration with Unbroken, who assessed its accessibility and provided valuable recommendations. The company is extremely grateful for this collaboration, as it helped create a comfortable environment for all employees.

Celebration and Traditions

The grand opening of the new office was lively and unique. Instead of the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sombra chose to break a plate, symbolizing success and a smooth process in filmmaking. Following this, there was a small party where employees had the opportunity to socialize casually, celebrate the new phase in the company’s life, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. We took many photos together, played foosball and tennis, sang along with the guitar, and enjoyed musical sets during the sunset.

At Sombra, we prioritize investing in our employees’ development. The company has its own internal Sombra University, English School, and Tech Community Sombra. We proactively support our employees’ professional and personal growth by covering the costs of courses and conferences, providing mentorship and psychological counseling, as well as paying for gym memberships, among other benefits.
