In August, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine together with the IT company EPAM Ukraine are launching educational initiatives for veterans and their family members. The training will take place in Veteran Development Centers, which were created with the assistance of the Ministry in Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Lviv and Mykolaiv on the bases of leading universities.
Participation in training programs is free and aims to get Ukrainian veterans and their family members to know about career opportunities in IT, as well as master one of the modern professions in terms of the transition from military service to civilian life.
“Large masses of our Defenders will return home after the victory, and we must ensure that they have the opportunity to adapt to a peaceful life smoothly. Proper education or retraining in accordance with modern requirements is one of the important tools of success for them. It is for this purpose that we opened four Centers for veteran development on the basis of powerful universities. They will become a platform for civil education of veterans and their family members. I am grateful to EPAM Ukraine for active cooperation in the educational project. I am sure that your specialists will create a professional environment for draw in and further develop Ukrainian Warriors in the IT industry. We are working together for victory,” emphasized Yulia Laputina, Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
“This educational initiative is part of EPAM’s comprehensive program in our work with veterans. We are happy to be useful and ready to cooperate with various specialized organizations, and most importantly, with the veterans themselves. Combining the efforts of the state, business, and communities will allow creation of a favorable environment for the professional development and reintegration of our defenders,” commented Natalia Koliadko, director of talent development at EPAM Ukraine on the start of the project.
For newbies, EPAM’s IT experts will hold a series of offline orientation sessions to help answer questions about careers and career opportunities in IT, how the industry is structured, how to start transitioning, and more. The events will take place in Veteran Development Centers, and will be held online in September. Participation is open to all interested veterans and their family members.
