Sigma Software University and Ukrainian Startup Fund invite students and startup founders to an event to improve communication and pitching skills.

Master of non-verbal communication, storytelling, and pitching, lecturer at the Stanford Continuing Studies, Jeff Сabili will hold a three-day event for students and startups in Lviv, consisting of two parts.

The first part will take place in the format of master classes at the Ivan Franko University of Lviv, and the second part will be a hands-on intensive workshop at the Sigma Software office for startups that participated in the first day and want to gain more practical experience.

THE POWER PITCH: COMPELLING STORYTELLING FOR STARTUPS is an exciting event by the famous Professor Jeff Сabili, a course instructor at the Stanford Continuing Studies. Jeff is teaching effective non-verbal communication, storytelling, and the art of pitching (pitch polishing + slide deck polishing) and helping startups polish their 5-minute pitches to increase their chances of raising money from venture capitalists.

Day 1

On May 15, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 2 master classes where students will be able to improve the following skills:

Non-verbal communication master class

• Expressive techniques, including gestures, body movements, positions, and postures
• Voice modulation techniques
• Maintaining eye contact
• Use of silence
• Consistency between verbal and non-verbal communication

Storytelling master class

• Describing the company or organization’s path to success
• Highlighting how problems were overcome and how failures were handled
• The power of storytelling to leave a lasting impression on the audience, even weeks or months later

Also a review of pitch polishing and slide deck polishing.

Days 2-3

On May 16 and 17, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sigma Software will host a second event for selected startups at their Lviv office, where Jeff Сabili will help startups master communication skills and improve their pitch decks. The second and third days of the program are designed for early-stage startups who want to learn how to better communicate with investors to get their first investment.

During the intensive workshop, startups will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to the professor and receive valuable feedback on improving their communication skills.

Startup selection criteria for pitching workshop

To participate in Days 2 and 3, 20 teams will be selected according to the following criteria:

• Startups in the early stages of development Pre-Seed, Seed
• Teams that have an idea or MVP
• Registered and operating in Ukraine, positioning themselves as Ukrainian
