Defending the Sky: Lviv IT Cluster Delivered New Equipment to Air Defense Forces

On July 2nd, at the premises of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, another equipment and device transfer took place for the needs of the Air Command “West” within the Victory Projects initiative, SKY project.

The Air Command “West” ensures the protection of the sky over eight regions of the western part of the country: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi. The military personnel received equipment that is critically necessary for effective coordination and management of defense operations. This includes personal computers, monitors, A3 format printers, projectors, communication equipment, and other gear. The total value of the equipment is over 1,200,000 hryvnias.

“Air defense is a priority for our fund. That is why we provided tools to improve communication between units today. We receive many such requests and strive to fulfill each of them. We often joke that we have delivered so much equipment that the Air Command “West” could start a sizable IT company after the war ends. We thank the Air Defense Forces for their service and continue to enhance the technical capabilities of our warriors,” commented Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

Modernizing the technical equipment of the analytical and command centers of the Air Command “West” is being implemented as part of the SKY project. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of air defense systems, which includes the complete replacement of existing computer and network equipment.

The project launched at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Since then, the Cluster community has directed about 25,000,000 hryvnias towards modernizing the Air Command “West”. As a result, the effectiveness of the Air Defense Forces has improved by 40%.

“High-quality communication is extremely important for Air Defense Forces because we cannot promptly receive necessary data from our units without it. We truly feel the results of our long-term cooperation with Lviv IT Cluster. The equipment they provide is high-tech and speeds up our combat operations. This is a great help,” says Denys Levkovych, an Air Command “West” representative.

In March 2022, Lviv IT Cluster initiated a series of Victory Projects. These projects support businesses, military, critical, and civilian infrastructure and enhance the region’s security. Project SKY is one of the largest initiatives within the Victory Projects.

“I would like to thank Lviv IT Cluster for our fruitful cooperation, which has yielded excellent results in defending our people! Thank you for another delivery. Since the beginning of the SKY project, the Cluster community has provided equipment to the Air Command “West” totaling approximately 25 million hryvnias. These funds represent a significant contribution to Ukraine’s victory,” emphasizes Maksym Kozytskyi, Chairman of Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Cluster community has directed over 124,000,000 hryvnias towards Victory Projects, equivalent to more than 3,000,000 dollars.
