Euristiq Recognized as a “Veteran-Friendly Company” by VeteranHub

A year ago, Euristiq signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with VeteranHub within the “HR Practice” project. This was the first step towards implementing required changes to address the needs of modern veterans and their reintegration into civilian life. Today, we are honored to receive the recognition as a “Veteran-Friendly” company.

VeteranHub evaluates a company’s effort and commitment towards veterans based on four criteria: active hiring of veterans, respect for veteran experience, workplace adaptation, and a pro-Ukrainian stance. Consequently, the main focus of changes was on improving recruitment, onboarding, and adaptation processes. In our job descriptions, we now add that we consider candidates with military and combat experience, publish our positions in specialized groups and organizations where the veteran community is present (including cooperation with the “Superhumans” center), and have trained our interviewers to understand military positions and consider skills acquired during service. The onboarding and adaptation process includes a comfortable period for continuing the professional path in civilian life. During the first few months, there is support from a mentor, manager, and HR, with regular meetings for feedback exchange and goal planning. Euristiq also offers flexible collaboration terms: full-time, part-time, or hourly engagement, individual schedules, and the option to work from the office or remotely.

“Cooperation with VeteranHub and our steps towards veteran reintegration are part of a broader strategy where we become a more inclusive company, where there is no place for discrimination, and instead conditions and opportunities for people with diverse needs are considered.” Ivan Muts, CEO of Euristiq.

Creating an inclusive work environment conducive to specialists returning from war is an important part of the company’s development strategy. Recently, Euristiq underwent monitoring by the NGO “Dostupno.UA” and received recommendations on creating a barrier-free space for all employees. In addition to improving office conditions, the company is also working on building inclusivity in the mental sphere; it is important for us that everyone accepts different war experiences, respects each other, and can understand one another. Our recruiters and HR specialists have undergone training courses developed by the VeteranHub team, familiarized themselves with the experiences of other companies regarding veteran reintegration, and actively follow articles and research on the needs of veterans and their families. We have also invited a veteran to conduct training for all company employees on ethical communication with individuals with combat experience and we plan to expand it into a series of subsequent training sessions.

“Implementing this project, we realized that all the necessary changes would significantly improve our company approach not only for veterans but for all other people. Trying to become a veteran-friendly company, we became a better company and better people overall.” – Anastasiia Mota, HR Manager at Euristiq.

Euristiq has been supporting Ukraine’s defenders since the start of the full-scale invasion. Since 2022, all company profits have gone towards the needs of our defenders and the rebuilding of Ukraine. We involve employees in fundraising, regular charity auctions, and volunteer initiatives, support our people in the military, and, of course, want to see veterans in our company. Our defenders make an invaluable contribution to the safety of our citizens and the country as a whole, and we, as a business, pledge to do everything in our power so that they have a place to return to after service.
