For Good Causes: How Customertimes Donated Computers, Furniture, and Merchandise to Charity

Over the past six months, Customertimes has donated 72 laptops, 73 monitors, and office furniture worth more than 200,000 UAH to charity, benefiting the military, schools, hospitals, and scientific organizations. The company also sold remaining merchandise at a charity fair and contributed the proceeds to the NGO “Seeing with the Heart.”

Since its foundation, Customertimes has been involved in philanthropic giving worldwide. But when the full-scale war began, the focus shifted to supporting Ukraine. In March 2022, Customertimes launched a special fund, “The Give Back to Ukraine.” Alongside fund contributions, the company’s CSR initiatives have since been aimed at aiding Ukrainians.

That’s why, during a recent inventory audit, Cutomertimes decided to turn items that no longer serve them — computer and office equipment and merchandise — into aid for those who need it. The company trusted its employees to choose the recipients of this assistance.

What Customertimes had:

  • Monitors and laptops that did not comply with company policies.
  • Furniture and equipment that had no place in the new office.
  • Leftover merchandise that was no longer in use.

How Customertimes acted:

The company took the same approach to the computer and office equipment: they sent lists of items and encouraged colleagues to request donations.

They received numerous responses mostly asking to help defenders — colleagues in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, relatives and friends in various military units.

There was also a significant request to donate furniture to medics in the “Main Military Clinical Hospital” in Kyiv.

Additionally, colleagues requested support for schools. Thanks to their efforts, Customertimes updated the monitors in the computer labs of two schools in the Kyiv region and donated furniture to Kyiv school #85.

Moreover, with the help of Anton Miliaev, Chief Delivery Officer and co-founder of CT, the company donated laptops, monitors, and furniture to the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In total, Customertimes has donated 72 laptops, 73 monitors, and furniture worth more than 200,000 UAH.

To turn merchandise into a benefit too, Customertimes organized a charity fair involving the Eastern Europe team. The aim was to raise funds to support “Kosmotabir”, a summer inclusive camp in Kyiv for children with special needs, organized by the NGO “Seeing with the Heart,” a cause Customertimes has long supported.

For the sale, backpacks, bottles, and other items were grouped into themed sets and priced symbolically. Employees could choose what they like and contribute to a good cause.

Colleagues purchased merchandise worth over 30,000 UAH, and Customertimes doubled this amount, donating 60,000 UAH to “Kosmotabir.”

“Your kindness enable us to change society’s attitude towards children with disabilities, help them acquire necessary socialization and communication skills, and support parents in believing in their children and children in themselves,” shared Olesia Yaskovych, founder of the NGO “Seeing with the Heart.”

After the fair, the company also donated branded t-shirts to defenders at the Kyiv Military Hospital.

“We aim to bring benefit and are pleased to utilize every opportunity. If we can help others, we must. We are glad that our colleagues share our values and participate in charitable projects,” said Taras Khudoba, VP Engineering, EEU Cluster Head at Customertimes.
